Kikuyo Kawakami, 93, of Hilo died March 12 at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born in Kapoho, she was a homemaker and member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin and Piihonua Kumiai. Louis “Louie” Silva-Sampaio Jr., 72, of Mountain View died March 15 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, he was a self-employed auto mechanic.
